I’m sure what everyone does on the eve of adoption travel is begin a major home improvement project. We are no different. With hundreds of things to do and both of us still working full time until the day we depart, we thought it made a lot of sense to undertake tiling our bathroom floor. In a sudden burst of tool-filled fix-it energy, we ripped up our peel-n-stick vinyl tiles and laid laminate flooring. I did my share of measuring but Ack was the muscle on the team.
It was long overdue. And now I can no longer color my hair in the bathroom. For some reason I have poor hair-dying skills and little black dots ended up spattered on the dirty cracked tiles, but who cares? Now I care and will be visiting the salon for my dye jobs. So in the short-run we save a couple hundred, and in the long run will spend thousands.
